Lorenzo Malagutti

I’m a staff researcher at the INFN division of Ferrara, and I'm a mechanical engineer with a PhD in 3D printing.

During my PhD, I developed strong skills in finite element method (FEM) simulations using Ansys, programming in multiple languages, and creating standalone software for various applications.

After my PhD, I joined INFN Ferrara, contributing to multiple projects in high-energy physics, dark matter research, and X-ray diffraction. My expertise spans different fields, allowing me to tackle challenges from different perspectives.

I also enjoy participating in beam experiments, mainly at CERN and XFEL. My responsibilities include the development and assembly of crystal setups, as well as overseeing their manufacturing process.

My work is interdisciplinary, bridging mechanics and physics, and I focus on developing practical solutions in a collaborative environment to push the boundaries of research.
