I am a staff researcher at the INFN Section of Ferrara, where I earned my PhD in Physics in 2015.

I have extensive experience in the data analysis of crystalline samples developed at INFN Ferrara and tested against particle beams.

Over the years, I have coordinated several beam tests related to channeling, conducted at major international facilities such as the CERN SPS external lines, the MAMI mikrotron in Mainz, and the DESY TB facility.

I’m a Postdoc researcher in experimental physics at INFN. My journey in research has been pretty diverse, much like my life.
Now, I’m part of the crystal group, diving into coding, improving my Geant4 simulation skills, and still getting hands-on with crystals and detectors.

What I enjoy most is running beam tests at high-energy facilities like CERN and MAMI. Managing data acquisition, doing quick online analyses, and keeping everything running smoothly under tight deadlines is both exciting and rewarding—it fuels our research for months.

I’m driven by connecting people and ideas, stacking up knowledge to tackle challenges together.

I am a full professor of experimental physics at the University of Ferrara, where I began my academic career as a researcher after earning my PhD in Physics in 1994 and where I served as the Head of the Department of Physics and Earth Science at the University of Ferrara.

Since 2003, I have been actively involved in studying coherent effects in crystals as part of various national and international experiments.

Pierluigi Fedeli
Pierluigi Fedeli

I graduated in Particle and Astroparticle Physics at Sapienza University of Rome with a thesis on the electromagnetic crystal calorimeter of the Mu2e experiment. During this period, I was affiliated with the National Laboratories of Frascati and had the opportunity to spend 3 months as a Visiting Scientist at Fermilab, participating in international conferences and presenting my work.

I am a staff research engineer at the INFN Section of Ferrara, where I earned my PhD in Physics in 2010. I specialize in manufacturing and characterizing bent crystals for channeling experiments. For many years, I have been responsible for the design and production of bent crystals using techniques developed in Ferrara.

I am a PhD student in Physics since 2022. I began my academic journey studying micromagnetism and later shifted my focus to the radiation emitted by particles interacting with oriented materials. My work primarily involves data analysis and Geant4 simulations to interpret complex physical processes relevant to our research group.

Marco Romagnoni

I am Marco Romagnoni, an experimental physics researcher at the Department of Physics and Earth Sciences of the University of Ferrara. My research focuses on coherent phenomena between crystals and particles, such as X-ray diffraction, channeling of high-energy charged particles, coherent elastic scattering of atomic nuclei with neutrinos, and potentially with dark matter.

I am a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Global Fellow Researcher, leading the TRILLION project (GA 101032975). The project TRILLION is dedicated to the implementation of physics and specific applications of electromagnetic processes in oriented crystals and nanostructures into Geant4 simulation toolkit to bring them to a large scientific and industrial community and under a free Geant4 license.
